Procházka, Ondřej ; Šídlo, Luděk (advisor) ; Šťastná, Anna (referee)
Population development in the post-socialist countries of EU at both national and regional level in the context of the second demographic transition Abstract This diploma thesis aims to analyse changes in demographic behaviour in the post-socialist countries of today's EU and confront them with the concept of the second demographic transition, or other alternative concepts, which are detailly discussed in the theoretical part. The period between 1980-2018 was covered - shortly before, during and after the transformation period. The analytical part consists of three parts: state and regional analysis with the addition of results from the GGS sample survey. The results confirmed the specificity of this region, differences in the development of traditional and liberal countries, significant regional differentiation in the development of demographic indicators and different causes of demographic change in the countries most affected by the transformation (Bulgaria, Romania and partially the Baltic states). The conclusions correspond to previous research, which emphasizes the need to consider different region-specific development trajectories, or the use of diverse concepts. Keywords: GGS, postponement transition concept, post-socialist countries, regional level, second demographic transition, social anomie...

Svobodová, Veronika ; Jüptner, Petr (advisor) ; Průdková, Karolína (referee)
This master thesis is a case study that deals with the concept of multilevel governance and its applicability in the regulation of the modern trend in shared economy - the digital platform Airbnb. The base resource for the study is the territory of the capital city of Prague, where this phenomenon has a massive impact on the problems in legislative issues. The political debate on this agenda fills the headlines of media news and tends to lead to major changes or mobilization of the electorate in the upcoming years. The enormous rise of developing this service has put politics at all levels of government ahead of serious legislative and political challenges. Application of the Airbnb service example on our theory forms the core of the empirical part of the research. The aim of this thesis is to examine the importance and role of each individual level based on the concept of multilevel governance in relation to the regulation of the Airbnb phenomenon. The main part of the thesis is devoted for processing semi-structured interviews with the main representatives of each individual level, media monitoring and analysis of available resources. Based on research is obvious that the basic postulates of the multi-level governance approach can be considered as valid because they are displayed at all selected...
Understanding of the concept 'Corporate Social Responsibility' - universal vs. regional level in South America
Pavlovičová, Natália ; Parízek, Michal (advisor) ; Soukup, Jaromír (referee)
This master thesis elaborates on the question whether there is a difference in the understanding of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) on the universal level and on the regional level in South America. It is built upon the dichotomy of the recent movement in the CSR field that seeks to answer both emerging transnational challenges in a coordinated way while delivering a significant impact on the local level. The analysis is performed using the method of content analysis. Two major aspects of CSR are analyzed - the way the nature of CSR is defined and the prominence of the issues that CSR should address. Based on the results of the content analysis, we identify major trends in the understanding of CSR on both levels and determine the scope of the difference between them. Regarding the differences, we find one common denominator that is dominant on both levels - institutions and governance. In other categories we observe a high variability of the prominence across analysed levels. The important trends revealed in the thesis is a high penetration of South America with foreign CSR institutions and a significant impact of a membership in a global CSR organization on how CSR is communicated by a member organization on the regional level.

Ways of sustainability measurement at the regional level
Kramulová, Jana ; Macháček, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Švihlová, Dana (referee) ; Nováček, Pavel (referee)
This thesis deals with ways of sustainability measurement at the regional level. In the theoretical part apart from definition and evolution of the concept related fields and different approaches to sustainable development are presented. Further, data sources and suitable characteristics of ideal indicators are discussed. In the application part methods applicable to measuring sustainable development along with restraints and possible problematic areas are introduced. Subsequently, these methods are applied to individual regional levels according to CZ-NUTS classification (NUTS 1 to NUTS 3 levels and LAU 1 and LAU 2 levels). At the end of the thesis, the most suitable techniques of results' presentation are introduced. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate and assess the ways of practical use of mainly quantitative methods (statistical methods and modelling techniques) for analysis and measurement of regional development sustainability and to suggest the most convenient methods for individual regional levels. The thesis answers three research questions: if one method is useful for all "regional" levels; if it is better to assess sustainability from the point of view of pillar or capital approach; and finally, if it is for measuring of sustainability more proper one summarizing (composite) indicator or indicators' set including more indicators.
